Strong Security and Authority-based Access
iData ensures that your data is secure by running directly on the System i, and not using an ODBC connection or exposing other critical ports. Users must provide valid System i credentials to log in. Once logged in, iData honors all existing object-level security configured on the System i. Furthermore, it provides additional security by allowing an administrator to restrict users from accessing specific functions, iData views, libraries, files, fields, or even records.
Simple Deployment
Deployment of iData is easy. Users do not have to install any software on their desktops. They only need to launch iData from a browser such as Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox. No special plugins, Java Applets, or ActiveX controls are required. iData can be deployed instantly to any iSeries or System i user just by sending them a hyperlink.
